
The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has been adjudged the overall best among the various Hajj operators in Nigeria during the 2017 Hajj operations by the Independent Hajj Reporters.
The certificate of recognition was presented to the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs and Amir-ul-Hajj, Dr AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, who was represented by the Executive Secretary of Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr Muftau Okoya and the Board Chairman, Dr. Tajudeen Yusuf at the award ceremony and public presentation of the association’s website, held at the Stone Hedge Hotel, Central Business District Abuja, recently.
Dr. AbdulLateef who expressed joy and satisfaction,
promised to sustain the standard and put necessary structure and resources in place to ensure a hitch-free Hajj exercise in 2018.
In his goodwill message, the Commissioner commended Independent Hajj Reporters for its effort in recognizing excellence and handwork during 2017 Hajj operations.
He urged the publisher of Independent Hajj Reporters to continue its accurate and timely reportage of Hajj operations, while advising that development journalism and professionalism should come to play in the coverage and
reporting of Islamic activities.
