LEICESTER have contacted Roberto Mancini as they look for a replacement for Claudio Ranieri as manager.
And as they search for a man to save the club from relegation they have sounded out former Manchester City boss Mancini to see if he would be interested.
The 52-year-old has been spoken to and Leicester are understood to have been told he would be interested in the role – although at this stage no firm talks have taken place.
And on Friday morning, Mancini tweeted a message stating his sorrow at Ranieri’s dismissal.
Sources have indicated the man who led City to their first ever title in 2012 may even be willing to accept a short-term role with the Foxes until the end of the season, with the option to walk away if he is unable to keep them up.
