Troops of 222 Battalion of the Nigerian Army neutralised several insurgents in an ambush along Maiduguri-Bama road in Borno State yesterday.A top military officer attached to the Maiduguri-Bama axis confirmed that the Boko Haram terrorists burst from the northern flank of Sambisa Forest.

His words: “After the hot exchange of fire which lasted over an hour, our gallant troops recovered arms and ammunition, including one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), two AK 47 rifles, 94 rounds of 7.62mm NATO belted with one destroyed Tecno mobile phone and a sum of N2,000.”
