Mob lynches 2 over okada theft in Lagos

Two thieves were lynched, weekend, in Isheri Oshun area of Lagos State when a mob descended on them after they snatched a motorcycle from one Soliu Azeez of Rubutu Street, in Kudeibu Estate at about 9:30p.m.

According to an eyewitness, Tobi Alade, immediately the robbers stole the motorcycle, the victim raised the alarm, which alerted people in the neighbourhood. They were caught and lynched.

A Police source told Vanguard that at about 11p.m. on Saturday, the Police at Isheri Oshun Division received a distress call that some thieves were caught at Ijeidodo Road. Immediately, the Divisional Police Officer and some of his officers raced to the scene.

Vanguard gathered that when the officers got there, they discovered the corpses of the two yet-to-be-identified men in a gutter.

Contacted, Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said he will get back to us, but had not done so at press time.
