NBDS summit to address position of made in Nigeria brands

THE Nigerian Brand Directors (NBDS) summit 2017 would explore issues on how to position made in Nigeria brands in the global market with a view to providing insight on how Brand Management tools can help economic growth and development.

Also, as part of its 10th anniversary celebration, Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria (IBMN) a leading brand management expert put together the summit so as to brainstorm on the theme: “Positioning Made in Nigeria Brands in the Contemporary Global Market; Issues, Challenges and Future Prospects.”

In a statement, organizing Secretary, Mr. Desmond Esorougwue, said that the poor perception of locally made goods among Nigerian consumers is driving domestic manufacturers to brand their products made-in-Asia or made-in-Europe, adding that most manufacturers in Nigeria place foreign label on their products or package them in foreign containers so as to sell at higher prices and make profit.

Esorougwue said that the 2017 NBDS promises to further address issues bordering on Strategies for growing brands in recession and the competitiveness of Nigeria brands in the global market.
