Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole on Wednesday disclosed government’s plan to revive Yaba vaccine production centre.
Briefing State House correspondents after Federal Executive Council meeting, the minister said the centre was shutdown for upgrade over 25-year ago.
The Yaba Vaccine Production Centre was a major vaccine production centre for Nigeria and West Africa. Established in 1940, the centre exports Smallpox and Yellow Fever vaccines to some west African countries.
According to Adewole, the memo to resuscitate the centre will soon be presented to FEC.
