President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to help Ghana on ways of fighting corruption, which he noted, had eaten deep into the fabric of both the Nigerian and Ghanaian societies.
The pledge came, just as Ghana marked its 61st Independence anniversary, on Tuesday, where Buhari participated as a special guest.
Recall that President Buhari, following his nomination as Africa’s anti-corruption Ambassador had re-echoed his stance to help the continent tackle the menace of corruption at the 30th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) held recently at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“Corruption rewards those who do not play by the rules and also creates a system of distortion and diversion thereby destroying all efforts at constructive, just and fair governance,” the Nigerian President had noted during the recent AU summit in Ethiopia.
He observed that Nigeria and Ghana were benefiting immensely from leaders committed to improving their economies and tackling corruption.
He commended President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana on his achievements in the first year in office, lauding his committed fight against corruption and the passing of the Special Prosecutors Bill into law.
