“NIGERIANS now have high regard for labour under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration”, a Civil Society group under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Justice and Equity (CCSO-JE) on Tuesday said.

It said the fight against corruption has become more effective amongst Nigerians as there seemed to be a great reduction in lawlessness and impunity.

Chief Convener of the group, Olayemi Success who stated this at a press briefing in Abuja asserted that there has been a high reduction in flamboyant and unethical expenses, a clear reduction in inflation, among others.

According to him, these were pointers that the anti-corruption war of the President has yielded positive results in the last three years.

“….Knowing well that integrity, honesty and abounding will are the major ingredients of anti-corruption war and without any doubt, President Muhammadu Buhari has the major ingredients as this is confirmed by the successes recorded in the fight against corruption hitherto, some of the achievements include the full enforcement of BVN and TSA, securing the conviction of some politically exposed person, recovery of many looted and abandoned funds via whistleblowing policy.

“Apparently, the fight against corruption is effective amongst Nigerians as many more are now conscious of their integrity with great reduction in lawlessness and impunity, Nigerians now have more regard for labour, high reduction in flamboyant and unethical expenses, clear reduction in inflation, auditing of some key Federal Government generating agencies, leading to discovery and blocking of loopholes with attendant effects of increase in our income generation, these and many more are some of the indices we have used to draw our conclusion,” he said.

Also, he argued that the country’s image has improved in the face of international community saying; “this has given birth to the willingness of many countries ready to do business with Nigerians and invest more in Nigeria, the respect and trust in our leaders by the western world is high, hence, the reason for the repatriation of some looted funds back to our economy.”

While also commending the President’s ongoing projects despite the elections, he said: “we know that an average politician will avoid decisive step and abandon governance during election period for the purpose of personal political gains but President Muhammadu Buhari is above board, he has clearly convinced us that he truly prioritizes the interest of the nation than any other personal interest.

“Finally, after all the aforementioned reasons we hereby pass a vote of confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari, affirming him as a true, sincere and genuine anti-corruption champion.”
