The President and Chairman of Council, Nigeria Institute of Management, Olukunle Iyanda, on Tuesday said that the 2018 Annual National Management Conference would hold between September 16 and 18 in Kano State.
Iyanda stated, “The ANMC is the flagship of the institute’s many activities and programmes. It provides us a platform to address a burning management issue that is considered of national importance with a view to arriving at a solution, which we will forward to all key stakeholders.
“In line with this laudable tradition, this year’s conference has selected ‘Reengineering Leadership for National Transformation’ as its theme.
“The conference, which is usually attended by over 2,000 participants consisting of professional managers, government functionaries, decision makers, opinion leaders, policy formulators and top management executives in both the private and public sectors, will be declared open by the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.
“A renowned academic and political scientist, Prof Kamilu Fagge, of the Department of Political Science, Bayero University, Kano, will be presenting the main theme paper. The two sub-theme papers will be presented by the Director-General, Institute of National Transformation, Prof Vincent Anigbogu, and the Chief Executive Officer, RISE Networks, Mrs Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji.”
The NIM president added, “The choice of the theme of the conference is influenced by the current loud and persistent national discourse, which has focused on the need for change in the way Nigeria is currently organised and managed. Our concern derives from our awareness of the relationship between organisational performance and effectiveness and its structure.”
