The Nigerian Ports Authority has said that a healthy, motivated and efficient workforce was a necessary ingredient for the nation to realise its enormous maritime potential.
According to a statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, NPA, Mr. Abdullahi Goje, the Managing Director of the NPA, Hadiza Usman, stated this in Calabar at a Gala Nite and award ceremony marking the end of the 2018 edition of the NPA Sports Association games.
She reportedly said that the decision of the management of the authority to approve the hosting of the 2018 NIPOSA games, after a 17 year lull, was not a misplaced one, adding, “You will all agree with me that NIPOSA has remained an effective avenue for sports development, well-being and socialisation among the workforce of the authority.”
She assured that management would within the limit of budgetary provisions ensure that the hosting of the NIPOSA games would become a regular and annual feature in the authority’s corporate calendar of events.
