DEPUTY Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Friday Osanebi, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Atiku Abubakar Media Vanguard, AAMV, Shadrach Otuaro and a member of Delta State Waterways and Land Security Committee, and Chairman of Amnesty Programme, Phase 2, Ambassador Kingsley Muturu, have congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the victory recorded in the March 9 elections in the state.
Osanebi while commending his constituents who trooped to his residence in Beneku community upon the news of the declaration of Okowa as winners of the last Saturday’s governorship and state House of Assembly elections, made a surprise cars gifts to two of his constituents.
He told party faithful and supporters that the re-election of Okowa for another term of four years was worthy of celebration as it was a reward for diligence and hard work.
Also, the state Commissioner for Transport, Mr Vincent Uduaghan and the member representing Ukwuani constituency in the state House of Assembly, Dr Alphonsus Ojo said “Deltans rewarded the governor for his hard work and achievements. Governor Okowa’s performance in all sectors of the state is unequalled.
“We thank Deltans for standing firm with Okowa. The people came out in their large numbers to massively vote for him. Okowa’s victory has brought stability to the polity of Delta State.”
Shadrach Otuaro on his part, said: “I believe that Deltans decided to re-elect Governor Okowa because his administration has performed exceedingly to transform the state, as well as their lives positively.
“Deltans reciprocated with their massive votes for the PDP in the gubernatorial election in appreciation of the human capital development and infrastructural projects he (Okowa) has done to transform the state.
“I, therefore, applaud the governor, his deputy and the entire Delta State PDP family led by the state chairman, Kingsley Esiso as they begin the next phase of the SMART agenda for the overall benefit of all Deltans.”
Muturu in a statement in Abuja, said, “Dr Okowa re-election for the second four years showed the confidence the people of Delta repose in him.
“His numerous projects in Bomadi LGA, such as rehabilitation of Bomadi waterworks, construction of Zion Road to Winners, construction of NEPA Towers across Bomadi River, renovation of Bomadi General hospital and construction of an ultra-modern market are just but a few of the many dividends of democracy enjoyed by Bomadi people in the first term of Governor Okowa.
“We appreciate your efforts in bringing these projects to Bomadi people and you to see all of them to completion.”
we also wish to seize this medium to call on you to prevail on the contractors handling the yet-to-be-completed projects to expedite actions in bringing ongoing projects to completion within the contractual time frame. For instance, the construction of NEPA Tower across Bomadi River, though completed, but we are yet to have electric power in the areas it is meant to serve.”
