abuja—Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is scheduled to address the struggle that led to the liberation of accountancy profession in a book launch titled, ‘Revolution of Accountancy Profession in Nigeria: History of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria’ written by Olumuyiwa Sosanya, on August 30, 2018 in Abuja.
According to the author of the book, Sosanya: “The book is a child of necessity that addresses what led to the struggle for the liberalisation of the accountancy profession and the birth of a virile homegrown accountancy body in Nigeria.
“Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to deliver the keynote address while the Chief host is Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.) with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as chairman and the special guest of honour is Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (retd).
“The guest speaker is Abdoulaye Bio Tchane, Minister of State for Planning and Development, Benin Republic, while the royal father of the day is Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
“The co-chief launchers include: Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, Chairman CEO, Oriental Energy Resources; Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group; Mrs. Folorunso Alakija and Chairman of Globalcom, Chief Mike Adenuga.”
The author also said that other expected guests include: The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State; Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State; Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun and Cross Rivers State governor, Ben Ayade.
