Residents of Ede in Osun State have called on the governorship candidates, members and supporters of different political parties in the state to avoid violence during and after the election.

In separate interviews with our correspondent on Friday, they stated that they were hopeful that the best candidate would win the governorship election.

One of the residents, Wasiu Olapade said, “They (candidates and their supporters) must be peaceful. There is no violence so far and there should be no violence.  The candidates should accept the result of the election. They must avoid violence. They must conduct themselves according to the law.”
