Over RCCG Province empowers members with vocational skills

AGOS—THE  Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Lagos Province 20 has empowered its members with different kinds of vocational skills aimed at making members self sufficient and contribute to the country development.

Speaking during the presentation of certificate and working tools to the beneficiaries, the Pastor-in-charge of Lagos Province 20, Pastor Tunde Netufo said: “What we are doing today underlines one of the critical policy of the church, which is called Christian Social Responsibility, in which wealthy members of the church put resources together in other to help the less privilege to also become rich. We are trying to be our brother’s keeper just as it is commanded in the scripture.



“It is not every day you give people money or food; if you empowered them you are giving them something that they can use to benefit themselves, family and society at large. What we are doing is in line with poverty eradication agenda of the church because as many as you are able to train and place on entrepreneurship drive will be free from issue of looking for jobs.

“I am appealing to all patriotic Nigerians that have means to empowerment and help people to do whatever they can to help people off the street.”

Head of Welfare Department, Mercy Umeh encouraged the beneficiaries to deploy the skills acquired in generating economic value and self sufficient.

Speaking on behalf of the graduands, Esther Okereke commended the gesture and promised that they will impact other church members with the skills they acquired.

She said: “Ordinarily, many of us are not financially buoyant to fund the vocational training, seeing our church supporting us to actualize our dream is a great thing.”
