Kaduna-based automobile assembler, Pan Nigeria Limited, says it is optimistic about its vehicles doing well this year despite the harsh economic situation in the country.

It said in a statement that it would position its various models to cater for different categories of new vehicle buyers in the society with a view to capturing more share of the nation’s auto market.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Ibrahim Boyi, was quoted as saying that automobile vehicles had been known worldwide over the years for their resilience and durability, adding that PAN Nigeria had stood the test of time.

According to him, the Kaduna-based factory has passed through thick and thin and after witnessing different phases and is currently poised for the market with different models in spite of the harsh economic terrain.

He stressed that the company looked forward to beefing up its line-up and listed models that should compete well with other leading vehicles in their segments as the 301, which won Car of the Year last year, 508, 3008, 4008 and Partner Tepee.

The statement gave some features of the Peugeot 301. Coming in three trims – Access, Active and Allure, the vehicle is available in two engine variants including 1.2 and 1.6 litre power plants, according to the statement.

It stated, “The 1.2 litre engine comes standard with manual transmission, while the 1.6 litre engine version is equipped with automatic transmission. With 15-inch alloy rim, and reinforced suspension, it fits perfectly on Nigerian roads and delivers unbeatable ground clearance.

“Other outstanding features of the car include rear parking sensor, touches of chrome, electronic windows and dual air bags, ABS, radio/MP3/CD player/USB and Bluetooth.”

As for the 508, the statement described it as one of the most powerful cars in its category, even with an engine capacity of 1.6 litres.

“It is fitted with a 1.6 litre turbo engine that delivers more power than most 3.0 litre engines. The turbo engine in the 508 means that it delivers twice the power of a 1.6, making it more powerful than most cars in its segment,” it stated.

The firm also said, “We have the Peugeot 3008, which was earlier launched as an MPV. It made its debut at the Paris motor show in October as a full-blown Sports Utility Vehicle. By the first look, the car looks great with a raised ride height, long bonnet body cladding and roof bars. All these indicate that the car is more practical than before.

“The interior of Peugeot 3008 looks like a futuristic design with Peugeot’s latest i-Cockpit design. The new cockpit is easily accessible by Driver as well as the passenger. There is an 8-inch high-resolution screen compatible with both Android auto and Apple Car-Play.”

In the SUV segment, Peugeot said it had positioned the 4008 for many auto enthusiasts with preference for Peugeot vehicles.

“The Peugeot 4008 is here to answer all the questions about off-road and off-road drives,” it added.
