Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, yesterday, said that the 13.5 billion Paris club fund from the Federal Government would only pay two months salaries of workers in the state.

Chief Rochas Okorocha

Okorocha disclosed this through a release issued to newsmen in Owerri, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo.

The release quoted  the governor to have said it while he was welcoming the Vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in the state, who was visiting Umuahia, Abia state.

In the release, “The truth is that the Federal Government owes the states as it has been said on papers. For Imo State, it is N13.5billion coming to the state and not N80billion as been alleged.

“With N80billion, I will change Imo to London. The N13.5billion coming to the state can only pay two months salaries and pension if used in that direction. So, it is not a big deal though it is helpful. “The N80billion is actually the amount been owed the state, but it is not what is agreed on or what was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for payment. There is a complete misinformation on the issue of the Paris Club Fund.”
