Members of the Strategy Review and Inter-party Relations Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are meeting with some leaders of the party in Abuja including the former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
According to them, the meeting is aimed at reviving the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The Chairman of the Committee, Professor Jerry Gana, who is leading the delegation stated that apart from meeting leaders of the party, they are also reaching out to other political parties of like minds with a view to forming a merger.
While commending the committee for their efforts in re-positioning the party for victory in 2019, Mr Jonathan emphasized the need for the party to ensure a credible delegate conference for the party’s leadership.
He also expressed confidence that the PDP would do better in the next general elections, saying that the loss of power at the centre is only temporary.
