The Niger State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party PDP has received defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Advance Democratic Party (ADP) from Niger South (Zone A) senatorial district of the state.
The party received the defectors in Bida the headquarters of the Zone when the PDP candidate for 2019 governorship flag off his campaign at the zone where he picked his running mate Barrister Mohammed Kudu Ndayeko.
The decampees from the ruling party was led by Kudu Kasim with over 1,000 members while the ADP decampees was led by Yahaya Designer with other 500 members and Adebaye Nupe with 300 youths joined the major opposition at the event.
The eight local governments from the zone came out in their numbers to declare their support for the candidature of Umar Mohammed Nasko and other party candidates for the 2019 general elections.
The immediate past Governor of Niger State, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu who is the leader of the party, State Chairman of PDP Tanko Beji, Senatorial candidates and former lawmakers as well as prominent party faithful attended the occasion.
