TONY OKAFOR

The Peoples Democratic Party has said it will reclaim Anambra State in memory of a second Republic Vice President, the late Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who played a major role in founding the party.

The leader of PDP reconciliation committee in the state, Mr. Ngozi Agudozi, stated this in a chat with SUNDAY PUNCH in Awka, the state capital, on Saturday.

Describing the PDP as a legacy to the people of the state by Ekwueme, Agudosi said the party wouldn’t allow the All Progressives Grand Alliance to retain power in the state.

APGA has been in power in the state since 2006.

Explaining that the era of APGA in Anambra State was over, Agudosi identified internal crises in the PDP as the cause of the party’s dismal performances in the state in the last 12 years.

He said, “I saw the cries and pains of party members at the grass-roots. They are looking for someone to give them sense of direction, which I will provide. That’s why they are embracing my peace efforts.”
