In commemoration of the one year anniversary of Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo Foundation (PKEF), its managers are empowering potential entrepreneurs with a start-up capital of N100,000.
The foundation, a pet project of the real estate guru, philanthropist Prince Kazeem Eletu, has since inception ensured there is absolute improvement in the lives of the less-privileged and the community at large.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Foundation, Olakunle Taiwo, the Foundation is all about building the community and improving lives. The Foundation has been running unofficially for over five years until the Chairman was advised to make it official. He is someone who doesn’t like to make noise but the team had to stay on his neck to make it more official. “He would always say must the world know I help?”
“The Foundation has been able to fix deplorable roads within the Osapa London community, constructed drainages and a giant multi-million naira borehole to serve the whole community.
On education, PKEF is currently sponsoring some students in secondary schools in Lagos. And more plans have been concluded to also add value to the education sector. More so, the widows and less privileged have not been left out. Last year, 40 widows were empowered and given food stuff during Easter. It also organised giveaways for over a hundred people.
“So, in commemoration of the first year of his birthday and the official launch of the Foundation slated for February 14 and 17, respectively, the team decided to empower a potential entrepreneur who has ideas to start a business but has no resources with the sum of N100,000. Such person would need to send a proposal or business plan on how to start up a business with such amount. So, having reviewed entries, a team is billed to select the best. After the grant is given for the startup, such person will be guided and assisted on the business, and will also enjoy support fund as the business grows. So, basically, it’s just to tap into the entrepreneurial sector because that is what the Foundation is investing on now; that is, to set up young and brilliant youths with great business ideas.”
