The police on Wednesday arraigned an applicant, Khadijat Aminu, in a Karmo Upper Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly beating up a policeman and resisting arrest.
The police charged Aminu, of no fixed address with mischief and resisting arrest.
The prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that the defendant tore the shirt of Mr Okoh Godwin a policeman when the team officers attached to the Utako Police Station Abuja on crime prevention were on patrol in a black spot in Wuse II Abuja on March 18.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 167 and 327 of the Penal Code.
Aminu denied committing the offences.
The Judge, Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He ordered that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction and case was adjourned until May 2, for further hearing.
