
The presidency has confirmed the release of Dapchi schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed this to newsmen in Abuja.
“Yes, the girls are being transported to safety. We will give details later. We thank God,” he said.
According to earlier reports that Boko Haram, on Wednesday returned the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapped from the Government Girls School in Yobe.
The insurgent’s group returned the girls in nine vehicles, an episode similar to how they were taken away.
From the sketchy details, Multiple sources revealed that five of the girls may have died while in custody of the insurgents.
