Supporters of one of the defeated candidates in the People’s Democratic Party governorship primary elections in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi are protesting against the alleged manipulation of the election in favour of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The aggrieved people marched to the party state secretariat on Monday to present their case.

The party held its primary election on Saturday with Adeleke declared as the flag bearer for the party.

The state gubernatorial election has been scheduled to hold September 22, 2018.

Adeleke emerged winner with 1,569 votes while Ogunbiyi a former Managing Director of Mutual Benefits Assurance, polled a total of 1,562 votes.

Ogunbiyi had on Sunday rejected the results and vowed to reclaim his stolen mandate.

”I have, therefore, resolved to seek an immediate redress of this clear case of injustice which is contrary to the spirit of transparency and justice being propagated by the new leadership of our party led by National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus,” he said in a statement.

PDP will be aiming to end an eight-year of the All Progressives Congress, which, on Friday, elected Isiaka Oyetola, the chief of staff to the current governor as its candidate.
