The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries has pledged its support for the Lagos State Government and promised to be an advisor and a think tank to the government.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees, ALARHOSPS, Mrs. Adefemi Taire, stated this in Lagos at the inauguration of the executive council of the association.

She said the Lagos State Government had also been assisting the association to actualising its programmes.

According to her, it is only fair that the association should extend the support to the government in reciprocity.

Speaking at the event, the newly sworn-in Chairman of ALARHOSPS, Alhaji Ajibola Olagbaye, expressed his gratitude to the government for all the initiatives put in place to grow the association.

He also stated that the association had been growing steadily and making progress in all areas of focus through the help of the government.

He said the government had earlier provided a bus for easy transportation of its members and was currently working on the renovation of the association’s secretariat.

According to him, the only way to pay back is to continue to be good ambassadors of the state.

Olagbaye highlighted the main objectives of the association for 2018 as tackling pension matters of members; hosting workshops on entrepreneurial development; organising health programmes; paying welfare visits to the elderly and sick; and embarking on community service programmes.

He said his administration would not only strive to strengthen the tie with the government for increased support and assistance, but would also work on promoting healthy living and providing necessary opportunities and welfare programmes to make members’ presence at meetings compelling.
