PORT HARCOURT— Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, has apprehended over 25 sanitation defaulters in Port Harcourt, during its monitoring exercise.
Sole Administrator of RIWAMA, Mr Felix Obuah, however, warned residents of Port Harcourt against indiscriminate dumping of refuse, urging them to observe all laid down rules.
In a statement in Port Harcourt, Tuesday, by Jerry Needam, his media aide, Obuah noted that the days of grace given to residents in the state who have continued to dispose of their wastes indiscriminately are over.
He warned that henceforth, anyone caught in the ugly act would be prosecuted and punished in line with laid down sanitation laws.
