Chelsea will face Huddersfield Town today in their Premier League opener.

The Blues will look to improve upon last season’s disappointing fifth-place finish.

New manager, Maurizio Sarri took over from fellow Italian, Antonio Conte, who left the club having won the Premier League and an FA Cup, but fell short in the league standings last season.

Huddersfield survived relegation last season off the back of a draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of the clash, Chelsea have sold first choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid in a £35-million ($45m) deal and replaced him with Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilboa for a world-record £71 million ($91m).

Also midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected to join AC Milan, with Mateo Kovacic coming into the midfield from Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal.

Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fabregas is a minor doubt for today’s encounter as he works through a small knee injury, and was seen with bandages on his leg after the Community Shield game against Manchester City last weekend.

PSV loan star, Marco van Ginkel is back at Chelsea, but he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and is unlikely to play any part this season.

Chelsea have no other injury concerns.

The Blues will likely play in a 4-3-3 system as the new head coach implements his own brand of football.
