Umeh declares for 2019, says no party can win APGA in Anambra

UmehTHE Senator representing Anambra central senatorial district in the upper legislative Assembly (Senate), Victor Umeh, has declared his interest to contest in the upcoming National Assembly election to go back to the Senate to represent his district in 2019.

Senator Umeh who announced his intention yesterday at the APGA secretariat in Awka, the Anambra state capital, said that for the six months, he has been in the chambers.

He told party stakeholders that he joined the legislatures after two years and six months of the commencement of 8th Assembly through court verdict and advised the party to work hard to ensure continued peace and unity to sweep the polls in the 2019 elections.

On his achievement so far, Senator Umeh said he has over 40 physical projects that are verifiable that cut across the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

Some of them he said are empowerment by victor Umeh Education foundation program that has been in existence for over ten years.

On the delay in the passage of the 2019 INEC Budget, Umeh asked Nigerians to blame the Executive arm for any shortcoming, adding that the budget was brought to National Assembly a week before they proceed to their annual recess.

He said that Nigeria is not making progress because the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is promoting laziness.

“You are aware that the National Assembly has approved 45billion for INEC to conduct credible polls and the approved budget was referred to the relevant committee to look into for speedy consideration and by the time this House reconvenes, it will be handled with dispatch, he concluded.”
