Leadway Assurance Limited and TBWA Concept Unit have expressed their support for Aba businesses and locally produced products.

They said this in a statement obtained on Sunday that this was part of their commitment towards economic growth of local businesses in Nigeria and promotion of insurance.

It stated that Leadway in partnership with TBWA Concept Unit organised a branding workshop to help local traders understand the benefits of creating an identity for their business and taking advantage of the security insurance offers.

“Brand development  is being envisaged as a necessary service to improve the formal market demand for finished leather/garment goods produced from Aba, to leverage the current ‘proudly made in Aba’ campaign; TBWA (managing partners) considers the development of ‘identifiable indigenous brands’ from the Aba cluster as a necessary step,” it stated.

According to the statement, the workshop was intended to sensitise the artisan producers to the merits of creating distinct brands, which highlight the quality of their products and may stimulate increased domestic demand for their products.

The statement said specialists in brand communication facilitated a day engagement session with the individual artisans and market executives to generate interest in the utilisation of the brand development service and insurance products that would help build capacity within the region.

“Leadway Assurance, as a viable and strong partner, only further reinforces the need/conviction for private investments in exploring the opportunities abound in Aba,” it stated.
