Singer, Yemi Alade’s ‘Johnny’ has reached 100 million views on YouTube.

By this feat, she becomes the first female African artist to reach this milestone.

Yemi, who once described herself as Mama Africa, shared the news on her Instagram, thanking her fans.

She wrote: “THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU🔥🔥🔥 100MILLIONVIEWS #JOHNNY”.

The song Johnny, released in 2004, was directed by Clarence Peters-directed video, also makes her the second African to achieve this feat.

The dancehall song also had a storyline that was stimulating and also sparked conversations.
