Minna – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential Aspirant, Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), yesterday paid a private visit to Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida to seek his support over his presidential ambition during which Gen. The PDP presidential aspirant unfolding his agenda for the nation said it included tackling insecurity, decline in the national economy as well as increasing unemployment among the youth.

The former military president in his response said: “from your agenda, I believe you mean well for this country and I think if you are given the chance to rule, Nigeria will witness tremendous development under your leadership because your roadmap can lead Nigeria to prosperity.”

The former military president also supported the call by the presidential hopeful for the unity of Nigeria to be held above all other issues, saying that “Nigeria has never been so divided and we need to be reunited again and your agenda can do this.”

Alhaji Turaki had solicited the support of the former military president for the realisation of his 2019 presidential ambition saying he had all that was needed to improve the country.

Addressing stakeholders at the PDP Secretariat, he decried the level of insecurity in the country which he said is on the alarming rate and promised to tackle it headlong if given the opportunity to serve the country as president.

He blamed the escalating insecurity on unnecessary rivalry among the security chiefs and added that if he were to be the president he would have sacked all of them.

On corruption, Turaki said “corruption in public offices is more now than during the last PDP regime saying,”the APC government has now opened door for theft of public funds more than any other regime that has governed this country.”

State Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Tanko Beji described the aspirant as a transparent and upright Nigerian who has served the Nation as a Minister deligently and came out with clean record and should therefore be given a chance.
