Barring any last minute changes, the All Progressives Congress will hold its national caucus meeting on Tuesday in preparation for its National Executive Council meeting on Thursday.

A highly placed source within the party leadership, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retribution, told The PUNCH, in Abuja, on Sunday, that the caucus meeting was going to deliberate on new dates for the party primaries among other issues.

The source said party leaders were miffed by the leakage of its proposed timetable sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission and were constrained to consider new dates.

He explained that the party was conscious of the fact that it was working against time as such it was equally looking at the possibility of dealing with most if not all pending issues especially as they affect party members who “have genuine grievances.”

He said, “We have a caucus meeting at the Villa on Tuesday and on Thursday we have our NEC meeting.

“We are also going to deliberate on new dates for our primaries and other activities.”

Pressed further for information, the source explained that issues about how to raise funds for the party’s activities would also form part of the discussions.

He also said “As you would expect, members will carry out an appraisal on how far we have gone with critical issues of reconciliation and pending issues especially as they have to do with party discipline and cohesion ahead of the 2019 elections.

“If you recall, the one we sent to INEC earlier has been compromised because it was leaked. We will suggest a new date which we will take first to the caucus then to the NEC, which is our party’s second highest decision-making body.”

When contacted, the acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr Yekini Nabena, said he had yet to be briefed,  as such, he had no information on the issue.

“I have no information on this issue,” Nabena added.
