Barely 30 days to Nigeria’s presidential election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday named technical advisers to its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Nigerian lawmakers senator Ahmed Makarfi, Yakubu Dogara, deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu and former Jigawa State governor Mallam Sule Lamido were named technical advisers to Abubakar.
Abubakar, a former vice president during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration from 1999 till 2007 is contesting the office of the president for the fourth time.
Current Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 ended PDP’s 16 years of democratic rule in Nigeria after defeating then president Goodluck Jonathan.
While the PDP seek a return to power, Buhari will be contesting the second term in office, making Buhari and Atiku at loggerheads during the February 16 presidential election.
