The pain women who are trying to conceive go through is indescribable. They go through strings of uncertainty and insecurity and also suffer from low self-esteem arising from unsolicited glances and sadness.

Thankfully, science has made it less harrowing for childless women to bring forth children through surrogacy.

Surrogacy is an arrangement, often supported by a legal agreement, where a woman is usually paid and agrees to become pregnant, carry the pregnancy to due term, and give birth to a child, all of this for another person or persons, who are or will ultimately become the parent of the newborn child.

In recent times, celebrities who have been open about their experiences with surrogacy are playing a great role in helping to douse the stigmatization of infertility,  a medical condition that affects nearly 40 percent of couples all over the world.

Here are a few celebrities who have brought forth children through surrogacy.

Christie Teigen and John Legend

Before Chrissy Teigen and her husband, John Legend welcomed their daughter in April 2016,the couple struggled with infertility and resorted to using IVF to get pregnant.
After Teigen got pregnant, she continued to be open about the process, especially as the couple had chosen the baby’s sex before implantation.

Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade

Celebrity couple, Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade recently welcomed a baby girl through a surrogate after the actress suffered eight miscarriages.

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West

After two babies, Kim Kardashian West announced that she would be having her third child by a surrogate mum.

The reality TV Star told Elle Magazine, ” I hated being pregnant, but as much as I hated it, I still wished I could have done it on my own. The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody.”

In 2013 She was delivered the set of twins with the help of a surrogate mother.
