Manchester United star Jesse Lingard did his best Black Panther pose after scoring in a 2-1 win against Chelsea.
He pulled off the move Sunday at Old Trafford in Stretford, England.
The first goal of the match occurred on a breakaway in the 32nd minute. Eden Hazard received a ball from Willian on the right side. He dribbled around a defender as Willian ran toward goal. Hazard spun around and threaded a terrific through ball up to Willian inside the box. Willian slipped in a shot at the near post, beating United keeper David de Gea.
But de Gea would not allow any more goals.
The Premier League powers went into halftime tied, but Lingard would push the Red Devils ahead midway through the second half.
Lukaku danced around a group of defenders before chipping in a cross with his left foot. The ball found Lingard as he ran toward net and he flicked a header into the near post netting for the go-ahead strike in the 75th minute.
After scoring, Lingard sprinted to the corner flag and gave each other Black Panther‘s Wakanda salute.
“I think we beat a fantastic team,” United manager Jose Mourinho said after the match, according to MUTV. “For some reason, they were the champions last season. For some reason, they played the way they did against Barcelona. For some reason, they started the game so well as they started here. We beat a very good team and to beat a very good team, you need to be organized but you also need to have a humble spirit where everybody works, everybody fights, everybody tries to follow a game plan. I repeat, we beat a very good team.”
