The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema, Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, and Presidential Assistant on Justice Reforms, Juliet Ibekaku, yesterday, emerged national delegates to the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in parallel congresses of the party held in Udi Local Government Council, Enugu State.

While Okechukwu and two others emerged from the congress held at the party’s Udi Local Government secretariat at Ninth Mile, Onyema and Ibekaku emerged from the congress held at the Comprehensive High School, Udi.

Okechukwu who emerged unopposed at the congress supervised by the national congress committee members of the party and Independent National Electoral Commission officials, praised the doggedness of the party members.

He said: “I met with the chairman of the congress committee and he said he was instructed to relate with the chairman of the party in the state. And I know that the chairman is an interested party. The chairman kept all the forms to himself, and that cannot happen.

“You cannot deny all these people here their voting rights. And so, we decided to conduct a parallel congress. I want to say that what we did here will stand. The votes of these people must count and nobody can change it.”
