IT is no longer news that oil made the Gulf of Guinea, GoG, a region susceptible to criminal activities. Unfortunately, these threats pose adverse security implications on the region generally, as this corridor has been bedevilled by various forms of illegalities ranging from piracy, kidnap of sailors, crude oil theft, illicit trafficking of drugs and weapons, among other maritime crimes.
